LILLE AIRPORT (LIL) INFORMATION

Situated ca 7 km south-southeast of Lille in northern France, Lille Airport is the gateway to the Nord-Pas de Calais region. Historic Lille attracts a large number of cultural tourists every year thanks to its outstandingly beautiful architecture, art collections and great museums.

Lille Airport offers passengers mainly connections to other parts of France, but also many routes to other parts of Europe. Carriers like Aegean Airlines, Air Algérie, Air France, EasyJet, Ryanair, Voleta and Vueling offer budget flights to destinations like Athens, Corfou, Heraklion, Kalamata, Kos and Rhodes in Greece, or Burges and Varna in Bulgaria. There are also flights from Lille Airport to Malta, Montenegro, Morocco (Agadir and Marrakech), Portugal (Faro, Lisbon and Porto), Spain (Barcelona, Fuenteventura, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Malaga, Mallorca and Tenerife), and to Switzerland's Geneva. Flights from Lille Airport also include Tunisia's Monastir and Djerba, and Turkey's Antalya, Bodrum and Izmir.

Domestic connections from Lille Airport include Bordeaux and Toulouse, Biarritz and Brest, Calvi and Lyon, Marseille, Montpellier and Nice. Strasbourg is also a route that passengers can choose from Lille Airport.

Arrivals and Departures are both handled on Level 2 of the terminal. Passenger services at the single terminal include car rental, taxi ranks, buses, several parking lots, a tourist information desk, ATM, café, bar and restaurant, Duty Free shopping and other retailers like a tobacconist and newsagent. Lille Airport's terminal is also equipped with a change machine, parent's room and children's play area, restrooms, PRM call posts, a Meeting Point and a Lounge Bar (Louis Blériot), where passengers can relax prior to their scheduled flights. There is also a postal service available inside the terminal.

A good selection of nearby airport hotels makes it possible to catch early and late flights, and some of these hotels have excellent business centers with conferencing facilities and meeting rooms. Two, three and four-star hotels in and around Lille offer spacious, modern and comfortable accommodation during business and leisure stays, for example the IBIS Styles Lille Airport, the Novotel Lille Airport, Hotel Mercure, Hotel Carlton, Best Western Plus, all within a short shuttle ride or taxi trip of Lille Airport.

Business Travelers

Passengers requiring a quiet work area where they can check their emails, read documents prior to meetings or simply relax with a newspaper will find work spaces on the Mezzanine floor near the Business Centre and in the Departure Lounge, close to Gates 4 and 5. Throughout the terminal there are areas with Wifi: for example at the bar and restaurant, in waiting areas in both Arrivals and Departures and near the boarding gates. Wifi connections are free for the first 15 minutes only. Passengers only need to connect to the “WIFI-AIRPORT” network.

For more space, it's possible to hire an office in the Business Centre by the hour. The information stand receptionists will be able to assist. They are located in the Main Hall on Level 2.

Passengers with reduced Mobility

For passengers with reduced mobility Lille Airport offers assistance through agents who can be alerted via one of the Call Posts dotted around the terminal: at the drop-off area for example, in the entrance hall between car park and terminal building on Level 0, close to the parking ticket machines. If passengers require specific assistance, when they board or disembark from their plane at Lille Airport, they should let their airline and/or travel agent know at least 48 hours in advance of their day of departure.

Taxi ranks are located along the drop-off esplanade on Level 2, the terminal forecourt.

Depending on the time of day, a trip from Lille Airport to central Lille costs between 25.00 euros and 30.00 euros. A trip from the airport to Gare Lille Europe or Gare Lille Flanders, two train stations in the city, cost 25.00 euros during the day, and 28.00 euros at night. The minimum fare is 7.00 euros for any trip, and the standing charge is 2.00 euros.

Car rental companies are located just outside the Arrivals hall. Lille Airport car rental companies with a rental station at the terminal include Alamo and Avis, Citer, Dollar, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz, Inter Rent, National, Sixt and Thrifty.

Lille Airport offers motorists several parking lots. At P2 the first 15 minutes of parking are free, the first half hour costs 2.50 euros, the first hour 3.50 euros. For car hire returns, motorists should simply follow the signs to the reserved areas.

Shuttles provided by various airport hotels are often free, or operate on reduced fares. When you make a reservation with a hotel, ask the reception desk, if a shuttle service is available.

Lille Airport Shuttle stops in front of the CIC building at Lille train station, which faces the Place des Buisses. It also stops close to the train station and the “Lille Flanders” metro and tram station. At the airport, the Lille Airport Shuttle stops in the drop-off zone, about where Entrance A is located, near the check-in desks and Departure zones.

The Lille Airport Shuttle takes ca 20 minutes to reach the city, depending on traffic. Running every day, including Sundays and public holidays, the shuttles have 54 seats each and are equipped with a baggage compartment and suitcase racks. All airport shuttles are air-conditioned and wheel-chair accessible. A single ticket costs 8.00 euros, return tickets cost 10.00 euros per person. Tickets can only be purchased from the driver on board the shuttles.

From the city center the shuttle starts at 05.10, operating an hourly service until 20.00. From Lille Airport the first shuttle leaves at 05.30, operating on an hourly service until 14.30, then airport shuttles run every half hour until 20.30. The final service of the day is at 22.30.
